It’s sobering to walk through devastation, and in ways I never knew. And this is the cleaned up version. Shane and I took a long walk through the most damaged parts of the neighborhood yesterday. I’d driven through a couple of times previous but I wasn’t prepared for how completely different of an experience it would be without being shielded by the street distance and speed of a car. I tried to use it as a prayer walk. If you pray, I hope you do the same. I don’t mean to turn us into “gawkers” for the sake of tragedy, but pictures help me see how lives have been drastically changed and I pray that they meet God today because of it. It is more clear to me now that no matter how nice and beautiful and organized our houses are, it’s all just dust of this world.
