Welcome to Shane’s First Birthday – virtually! We had a great day, even with the snow (in the end of April?!)!
Grandpa & Grandma Pratt’s
We celebrated with Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Patti during the afternoon. Patti prepared lunch for us and we took the abundance of gifts Shane received to their house to open. He enjoyed ripping paper and eating it!
Birthday Party at Our House
We hosted a birthday party at our house for dinner! Thirteen friends plus ourselves were able to come and celebrate with us. We held a “Decorate Your Own Mini Cake Contest!” Each person received one miniature birthday cake to decorate, however, between couples only one cake could be submitted for the contest. Then we all voted for the winner. People were surprisingly creative! Here are the 5 submitted cakes for voting…

And the winner was…The Veggie Cake by Terry and Stacy! Their prize was a photo shoot with Shane! It was hilarious and awkward and everyone said they are never going to participate in our contests again! :-) Here are a couple of the best shots.
Surprise Visit
Our good friend who is serving in the US Navy, stationed in Washington State, showed up for a surprise visit! He is in MN for a few days and stopped by on his way into town. He’s a professional recorder player (just kidding!).
